Summer is all about crave-worthy color. This season, I’ve partnered with Z Gallerie to show you how to infuse color to make a style statement that elevates your mood. Depending on how it’s used and which hue you decide is right for you, tints of turquoise can energize your wardrobe or add serenity and relaxation to your space. Possessing the cool, soothing tones of clear skies and crystal waters, aqua, brings the calming rejuvenation of an ocean breeze to your space. Recharge your spirit, create tranquility, and bring serenity into your space with the energy of cerulean.
Nate Berkus once said that he suggests having signs of sea life in your home. I could not agree more, and that’s why turquoise is always at the top of my list when it comes to taking your home to a new level.
If you’re a fan of turquoise shades, you already know how it can make you feel like taking a deep breath and closing your eyes as you’re transported back to memories from the past.
For me, it recalls beach vacations as a child with my toes in the sand and my memorable honeymoon in the luscious turquoise water of St. Bart’s, listening to the relaxing waves of the ocean.
Here are some of my top tips on taking on turquoise in your life.
Texturize your home with turquoise. One of the most fabulous pieces I’ve seen in a long time is this Devereaux sofa in Calypso blue from Taylor Burke Home. The sea-glass turquoise shade calls up the ocean while feeling warm and comforting, thanks to the lushest velvet around. And, just think of all the ways to accessorize! Cream and gold pillows – reminiscent of champagne – would complement those golden legs beautifully. Lavender and gray can easily take it to a cooler note. And, a pale pink throw blanket can add an unexpected pop of pastel into the room that the whole family will enjoy. From headboards to ottomans to plush accessories, Z Gallerie offers several options in this soothing shade sure to turn any room into a relaxing retreat. Pair aqua with white or neutrals to open up your smaller spaces and reflect light.
See some sea glass in your home. One of the fastest way to make your home feel like a vacation home is to add elements of the ocean — sand, seashells…and sea glass. Choose sea glass vases, candle holders and even mason jars for sophisticated-yet-cozy color.
Turquoise up your stems. Just because the flowers are picked up in white at your local florist, it does NOT mean they have to stay that shade. Many of the brilliant turquoise blooms you see have actually been dyed to achieve that particular hue, and you can get that same color at home. Gerbera daisies are the perfect choice for DIY coloring at home, as well as other white flowers, such as orchids, roses and hydrangea.
Take your fashion up a notch with turquoise. With fashion, turquoise can captivate, enchant, and even take your breath away. If you’re a lady wanting to add a little turquoise to your late spring/summer wardrobe, how exquisite are these Oscar de la Renta beaded earrings?

And, if you’re a gentleman, you can easily add a wave of turquoise to your standard suit by simply adding a tie, like this one. Father’s day is coming up next month, and the father & son tie sets by Ferragamo offer several options for the perfect color combo gift for dad!
