Thank you so much to all of you for your kind comments and emails about my Gracies look last week! I had such a fun time, and felt my best, thanks to my makeup artist, Marylin Lee.
Apparently, it was a hit with many of you, too, as I got a lot of questions about all of those makeup details! Well, here’s the Gracies red carpet scoop from Marylin and me. I’ll be sharing more details and my own personal tips about these products in the coming weeks, just in time for sizzlin’ summer soirées, so stay tuned!
Prep me pretty. Marylin started out by prepping my skin, as all makeup artists do. Try it! We prepped the eyes with Angels Eye Pads, prepped the skin with Embryolisse Anti-Age Firming Crème, and prepped the eyes for shadow, certain to last all night long, with Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion.
Glowing skin is in. For a beautiful complexion, Marylin applied Makeup Forever Liquid Lift Foundation, and perfected my skin with Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, by applying it to spots that needed additional coverage. For concealer, she used the tried-and-true Bobbi Brown Corrector, which regulates skin tone, like nothing else.
The eyes had it. I LOVED my eye makeup for the Gracies this year! They were defined and all about the lashes, without being over the top! Marylin accomplished this sexy, yet classic, look by starting with Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colours in Burnished Bronze and Cocoa. She then applied MAC Eyeshadow in Bronze on the lid, applied Anastasia Contour Palette in the crease, and finished by lining the inner upper and lower lashlines with Urban Decay All Nighter Eyeliner in Perversion. And, of course, there were LASHES!! For this lash-loving look, Marylin swore by Georgie Faux Lashes Style No. 5 ‘Midnight Muse’. Lastly, she used Anastasia Dipbrow to define my brows, because we all know how important that is!
Getting cheeky. For cheeks, she added a pop of flush to the apples of my cheeks, with Makeup Forever HD Cream Blush in Flamingo Pink, while bronzing my cheekbones, and subtly contouring my forehead and jawline with Tarte Amazonian Clay and Annatto Body Bronzer. Lastly, she ensured that the light caught me in all the right places with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette.
Lip service. As for lips? We kept it neutral, simple, and – you guessed it – seductive. Marylin completed my glam Gracies look, by applying the oh-so-moisturizing and matte Chantecaille Hydra Chic lipstick, and topping that with a glossy coat of Mai Couture Social Gloss in Flirtini. The perfect gloss name for a big night out!
