Flower crowns were the inspiration for my Boho Chic Goddess Gathering.
I discovered many flower crown selections on Pinterest and from there the vision for the party emerged. Using these images, I created crowns that fit both the color scheme and my Boho chic theme.
Flower crowns made with real flowers will only last a day or two, but I love the beauty and scent of fresh flowers so these crowns were made with fresh flowers.
- Stay-Fresh Corsage Stems
- Oasis Floral Adhesive
- Floral tape.
- Wire cutter
- Floral wire
Flowers and Greenery:
- 3-4 white and green hydrangeas per crown
- 4-5 white spray roses
- 2 stems dendrobium orchids
- Green Ivy
Crown Base: Use a thin floral wire as the base of your crown. Cut the wire to an approximate head size. Wire is a good foundation for the crown base and it is able to be molded however you want.
Crown Filler: Add fresh greenery, I used ivy, and any filler flowers and wrap around the wire with floral tape to disguise any wire that is showing.
Flower Finish: After you have the greens secured to the base of the crown, add your statement flowers. Choose flowers you love, or ones that work well with your theme, or décor. I chose white and green hydrangeas, white dendrobium orchids and white spray roses. Wrap the flowers tightly with your green wire or floral tape to secure in place. When placing the flowers, make sure your flowers face outward.
You can place flowers all around your crown or leave the front for your statement flowers. I wanted each crown to bloom with flowers so I placed them all around the crown. The ivy was placed between the flowers to break up the flowers and add a Boho look to the crown.
Check back next Monday, August 3rd, for all the details on the Bohemian Tablescape.
