Becoming a New York Times Bestselling author was a dream come true for me!
And, I can’t think of a more fitting – or, special – way to have celebrated such a milestone than an influencer luncheon surrounded by those who inspire me and many of those who helped this book come to life.
Our hosts, Libertine’s Johnson Hartig and PR powerhouse Karine Joret hosted this colorful affair of a luncheon at Fred’s Beverly Hills this summer. And, while I sat at a table surrounded by inspiring influencers – friends, both old and new – I couldn’t help but see all of the color and creativity living and breathing right in front of me. From the tablescape filled with Eric Buterbaugh’s always-fab florals to the vibrancy of my friends’ fashionable ensembles, the real guest of honor was…you guessed it…COLOR!
Among the bold splashes of color, I added my own touch to the table–artwork created just for the occasion. Inspired by Libertine, and in hopes of inspiring those that attended, I wanted to do a little something unique as a memorable memento. In lieu of place cards, I came up with a custom 6″x6” mixed media art piece including a collage all cut from images out of my book. Sitting atop a mini easel they marked each spot with a removable clear overwrap with each guest’s name painted on it in neon pink. Between the personalization of the painting and color coordination with the gift box and book, I couldn’t help but contribute with a little on-brand creative nod to color.
To top off the color explosion, Johnson surprised me with a custom, colorful Libertine sweater with my name on it! I shall cherish it always!
Speaking of creativity, the table was filled with creatives, innovators and humanitarians including former first lady of California and activist Maria Shriver, actress and television personality Brooke Burke, florist and perfumer Eric Buterbaugh, artist and social media darling Donald Robertson, author and relationship expert Tracy McMillan, and community influencers Beth Friedland, Eve Gerber, Kelly Styne, Nina Van Arsdale and Paula Keane. I encourage you to follow all of them on social media to enjoy the color they add to this world.
Between the delicious menu, engaging conversation and a sunny beautiful Beverly Hills day, I couldn’t have felt more filled up with gratitude.
Thank you to my gracious hosts, Karine and Johnson, and to my guests for taking an afternoon to celebrate my biggest milestone to date.
You all inspire me to keep achieving more.
