49th Annual Country Music Awards

11.10.15

Every year around this time in Nashville, there’s a feeling in the air, and a buzz brewing from Bridgestone Arena. That’s right…it’s CMAs time! I had the privilege of attending the Country Music Awards again this year with my husband, Charlie, and it was a night to remember. Between the stellar performances and creative collaborations (hello, Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton), it was a show that everyone will be talking about for years to come. But, let’s focus on the fashion for a minute because Nashville was all about glamour last Wednesday.

Angelic in creams & nudes. While it’s not the norm in November to wear light colors, the most popular color group on the red carpet this year was an array of creams, nudes and champagnes. Lee Ann Womack, Trisha Yearwood, Kelsea Ballerini and Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town all opted for these heavenly hues on country’s biggest night.

Taking the plunge. The country music capital had some major sex appeal on the red carpet when Kacey Musgraves and Jennifer Nettles showed up in their pretty gowns with plunging necklines.

A pop of popsicle palette. Another popular color was the perfect cherry popsicle orange/red color range that we saw on Carrie Underwood, RaeLynn, Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town and Womanista creator (and wife of Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelle), Cassie Kelley.

The men in black. Where are the guys on this fashion spectrum? Well, most of them went for a bold, basic black. The guys who made black look like a new fashion trend included Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan, among others.

As for what I wore? This year, I was all about lace with an edge, with my Elie Saab dress, lace stockings and Giuseppe Zanotti crystal-studded heels. It was definitely a statement for me, and one I haven’t made before!
